Raiding Requirements
View Version History
The best way for us to make our guild amazing is to have 25 amazing individuals in every raid. If you are wondering, "how do I make myself amazing, I'm already amazing", please leave your ego at the door and read on.

1. Attitude.
We should all have a winning attitude. We should be confident but not arrogant. I want a guild full of people who are good and they know it, but they don't have to say it, nor do they have to be told. They don't have to put other people down to highlight how good they are. I don't want crybabies and I don't want assholes. This isn't a day care center. We do not have paid counselors in the guild. If you have emotional issues that make it difficult to interact with others on a somewhat professional level, you don't belong here.

2. Focus.
Everyone should have amazing focus while raiding, on bosses as well as trash. We spend more time clearing trash each night than we do killing bosses, so if you think it's fine to slack on your duties on trash you are mistaken. This means clearing up any distractions inside and outside the game prior to raid time. We currently raid from 7:00 - 11:30 central time 1-3 nights a week. If you have homework to do, do it before or after the raid, or on a non raid day, not during trash. If you need to eat, eat before the raid. People who make a habit of going AFK to take care of things on trash need to change their habits. I understand that during the course of a 5 hour raid people may need to leave their computer momentarily to use the restroom or grab a drink, but these breaks should be very short and at a time when it will least affect the raid.

3. Talents.
Your talent choices should allow for you to do the best possible dps, healing or tanking depending on your role in the raid (obviously some utility specs/talents are used to benefit the overall performance of the raid). This does not merely mean that you have what would be considered a PvE spec. Everyone should know their talent trees intimately, understand every ability your class has, and have an amazing spec that maximizes your contributions to the raid. If you don't fully understand your talents or how to best use them, FIND OUT NOW. Talk to knowledgeable people in the guild, read forums such as elitist jerks (http://elitistjerks.com). Along with having the proper talents, you should also understand the optimal rotation for dps/tanking, and the optimal healing spells which can change depending on the conditions of the fight.

4. Consumables.
Everyone should have and use consumables. Aside from the obvious Flasks (or elixirs) and food buffs, be prepared to use whatever mana, haste or other dps potions that will help you to perform your job.
